I was nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by one of my favorite bloggers, Valerie at Atlantamomofthree. Awards are great because it feels good to get them, I get to pass them along to other writers, and I get to meet some great new bloggers from others’ nominations.
To accept the award, I will share seven random facts about myself then nominate other cool (versatile) bloggers.
1. I try to keep busy because I feel that I’m lazy by nature.
2. I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 14.
3. I love guinea pigs and usually have one or two (currently Scarlet Begonias and the recently adopted Sugaree).
4. I spent the first 11 years of my career working at a lawn sprinkler company.
5. I passed a Sanskrit proficiency exam and used to teach it.
6. I love to sing but have a hard time finding the time.
7. I’ve been to nearly every state in the U.S. due primarily to some great family vacations when I was a kid.

Congratulations to you and thank you so much for the nomination my way! I think guinea pig is the only pet I have never owned. Right now we don’t have any pets in the house but I have actually been throwing around the idea of getting one or two for the kids!

They are so much fun, but require adult supervision. My brother and I were in charge of guinea pigs too early to be good for their health and longevity!

Now those are some crazy good random facts. Sanskrit proficiency?! Seriously, that is amazing. And I love your guinea pig names! Scarlet Begonias is my favorite GD song, AND I was obsessed with Scarlett O’hara as a teen (as mentioned in one of my posts last week…) Thank you SO much for the nomination. I am certainly honored and flattered by the nomination… blush!
